The Buchan Board has been reviewing our practice and continues its strong commitment to an integrated OneBuchan post-2017 merger. In line with this, long-standing Principals, Bruce Shaw and Greg Sheehan, will be appointed jointly to lead Buchan with the position titles of Group Managing Principals (“GMP”), effective immediately.
The position of Chief Executive Officer will no longer be included in the revised management structure. As such, Andries Meyer will leave Buchan but has kindly agreed to remain with the business until the end of February 2020 to facilitate an orderly transition.
Frank Zipfinger, the independent Chairman of Buchan said “I would like to pay tribute to Andries for his leadership of the combined Buchan business. Prior to the merger he was CFO of the former Melbourne business for over five years, and then CEO in the lead up to the merger. Andries was instrumental in the unification of the three firms and the subsequent work in integrating the studios across the globe. All of us who dealt with him were struck by his dedicated work ethic and enthusiasm. The Board would like to thank Andries for his contributions to Buchan and wish him every success moving forward.”
“Bruce and Greg are the ideal leaders to take Buchan to its next stage. Both are well respected architects and are responsible for many of our signature projects. They have a long history with us and are deeply imbued within our teams, our unique culture and our practice. They have successful track records in business leadership roles across our studios and were key partners in the drive to bring the three businesses together, successfully undertaken two years ago”.
