Eastland Shopping Centre

Overview

Integrating shopping centres with other uses and community facilities is a great way to make a shopping centre a destination.

Eastland mall is fully masterplanned. It blends striking architecture and innovative interior design to create a pleasing environment that appeals to a burgeoning trade area to draw more people. The centre’s strong community focus is woven throughout its timeless design, celebrating Eastland’s proximity to the Yarra Ranges tourism region.

The use of high-quality tactile finishes, natural stone, patterned detailing and soft lighting reflects the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The contemporary fit-out introduces large department stores, new mini-majors, specialty stores as well as a host of international brands. The expansion doubles the size to 131,000sqm as well as providing 5,300 car spaces.

Alongside the revamped centre is the creation of a town square which welcomes visitors through quality retailing, al fresco dining and generous public spaces for a mix of activities. Realm is also part of the development. In 2017, we celebrated the opening of Sage Hotel, the first hotel in Victoria on top of a shopping mall.

Buchan worked in association with Seventh Wave and Acme.
